Dr. Glonek received his undergraduate education
at Northern Illinois University and Chicago City
College. He received his Bachelor of Arts in
Optometry and his Doctorate of Optometry degree
at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1972. He
has been in practice in the Phoenix area since
that time.
Dr. Glonek received his specialty certification
as a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in
Vision Development, which is an internationally
recognized organization that deals with vision
development, vision therapy and visual
rehabilitation. He is a recognized vision expert in
sports vision, reading and learning problems,
eye deviations and amblyopia, rehabilitation
of stroke and head injury patients, autism
and treating patients who are physically and
mentally challenged.
Dr. Glonek is a past president of the Arizona
Optometric Association and the Arizona State
Board of Optometry and has received numerous
awards including Occupational Therapy Recognition
award from the Arizona Occupational Therapy
Association two times, Optometrist of the Year
from the Arizona Optometric Association and the
Central Arizona Optometrists of the Year from the
Central Arizona Optometric Society, He has
lectured extensively nationally and
internationally and has conducted clinical grand
rounds in Chile, Argentina, Mexico and the Gaza
Strip. Dr. Glonek has been traveling to
Mexico and South America treating patients
on an annual basis for over 20 years
Dr. Glonek is a sportsman and has worked with
numerous professional and amateur athletes in
every sport, including baseball, football
tennis, golf and trap and skeet competition to
mention a few. He is an avid fisherman and would
love to trade fly tying patterns with anyone.
